Recap: “Remembrance, Reconciliation and Raising the Bar - June 27, 2023 at AnMed

AnMed was at the table in 2020 to help establish the Anderson Area Remembrance and Reconciliation Initiative. Despite the unprecedented challenges of a once-in-a-generation pandemic and escalating social unrest, AAR&RI began an unprecedented effort in this community to honor the five known victims of racial terror lynching. Our objective is to reflect more honestly on the history and legacy of racial and economic injustice in Anderson and across the nation.

AnMed has invested time and resources in support of AAR&RI and now serves as the third host of site of “The Sculpture” designed by nationally renowned artist and Anderson native Herman Keith. We are hosting a three-part series to conversation series to raise awareness about the legacy of social injustices and its generational impact on the social determinants of health. Part 2 “Remembrance, Reconciliation and Raising the Bar” featured a conversation with law enforcement leaders from three upstate public safety agencies facilitated by Ten at the Top, a consortium of the ten counties in Upstate South Carolina.

We a proud to be a part of these timely conversations. Better starts here!
